Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.
Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

i stay in Pune and ferl 2 suggestions about traffic. Please make it compulsory to have 2 side glasses in proper condition to every vehicle and a a line written on number plate " follow traffic rule" this can reduce accidents to good extent

Concrete roads dont absorb water. Please make tar roads. Also instead of cement blocks lining the road can we have cement jaalis to absorb more water.

Make it compulsory for a shop keeper, households to clean up area in front of their premises like in Sikkim. Also introduce penalties for Municipal staff, Nagarsevaks of the area, MLA and MP of that area for Cleanliness, law and order of their area - if they don't perform discontinue their MLA, MP status, recover losses from them and shall not be eligible for pension.
