Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.
Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

Maharashtra is facing tremendous drought. But one very important and long lasting benefit we can take of the situation. Most of the dams are becoming dry. Taking advantage of this, maximum sediment settled at bottom of dams can be removed and can be distributed to nearby farmers. This will regain capacity of dams, farmers will also get good soil for cultivation.

Dear Sir,
As Maharashtra is facing severe drought this year, I think we should plan for long term Water resource management plan. Various steps can be taken to avoid this situation in future and also for securing better environment for future generations. To name few I would like to suggest Water harvesting in all cities, linking of rivers, setting up plant to convert sea water to drinkable water, banning water consuming crops. If government takes initiative and every citizen will join that.

The Maharashtra CM should start with Mann Ki Baat like the PM does, so that there will be an opportunity of people of Maharashtra to understand the views of the government on various issues.

Steps should be taken in the month of May for ground water harvesting and small village level rain water conservation . This will help some income for drought hit farmers in May and June and the infrastructure built through such mechanism will help store water once rain start in the monsoon, preventing further drought situations.

Subject: - Regarding Including My Village in “JALYUKTA SHIVAR YOJNA”
Respected Sir,
I belong to village Chincholi Taluka- Rahuri, District Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Pin code-413710.Like many villages in Maharashtra, my village is too suffering consequences of drought. There is already a lake near Nalge Vasti but there are no stop dams all the rain water washes away in Pravara River.
Broadening and deepening of lake and construction of cement stop dams before monsoon can solve the problem.

Dear Sir/Ma'm,
Can we please build desalination plant for all coastal cities like Mumbai so that waster is not sourced from dams/rivers but sourced directly from the sea. This will also ensure that water from rivers are used for interior villages/cities that don't have a coastal line. Countries like Israel have done a lot of work on desalination plants and have made their countries water positive from a water deficit state. Please adopt the same for all our coastal cities.
Regards.

sir/maam,
the primary thing that we can do know is use the remaining water consiously
but one thing i would like to tell is people is so bother out water they save drop by keeping bowl underleaking taps.
but when they get water through taps they throw the old water and fill drums by fresh water
and would thank our govt for starting train of water
