Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.
Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

Hello Sir,
Not sure why the govt starts fixing the problem at the last minute? Can we not think of better plans and execute then to avoid any drought situation in the state? Or we just want to be in this situation forever?
We should try and keep the river water in rivers, instead of allowing it to flow in the oceans. It is not a difficult task, at a village level, the Sarpanch should be given the task to create a reservoir to store rain water.

Respected Sir,WASTAGE OF DRINKING WATER.Water got from the Air conditioners, left over in bottles by children after school,in office bottles can be collected in a tank and can be used for flushing toilets, watering the gardens, cleaning the cars, cleaning buses.A awareness is required to educate people.Local contact numbers/email to be circulated to report wastages - misuse and theft of water.Lot of places pipes are leaking, tanks are overflowing, some point contact to stop this required urgently.

to prevent water wastage my suggestion is to start water audit.bu water audit u get who consume how much of water n make to cap level of consumption for each one.everyone knws that much water is consumed by those one who were financially strong n not yet bother about water deficiency . too much of water is wasted in farm houses, gardens, golf courses, swimming pools n these are not imp from life of person .aftr audit restrict consumpion level as appropriate.so think fr water audit .

We see many huge machinary of earth moving equipments used across the world. WHy not make it compulsory for each District to buy few and allot it for excavation of river widening, deepening and weir/Bandhara construction. Or promote certain schemes for private agencies to buy it and get paid through govt tender jobs.

It is most important to save Trees in Maharashtra. That affects environment a lot. Government is spending money on planting trees, it is quite good but who will take care of these trees & jungle. If we concentrate on trees and jungle most of our climate problem will get solved.
