Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.
Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

It might be the possible solution for the drought conditions in Maharashtra. I have discussed the AWS products which convert atmospheric air into water. You can check the product details in the attached pdf file and in their website www.AquariusBrands.org. For more details you can get in touch with Howard at info@AtmosphericWaterSolutions.com

Start deepening all canals, rivers and lakes as soon as possible as this will enhance the storage capacities and also increase ground water table as soon as it rains post June 2016.

The area development funds available to MP, MLA and Councillors should be used for water harvesting, ground water recharging, Sewage treatment plant. These projects should be included in the list of projects for which Area development funds can be used. In Mumbai councillors and MLA use their funds for footpath renovation and building toilets. Please give them direction to use it for solving water crisis faced by our state.

All the rivers of Maharashtra should be joined together, I know it's a very hard task be it should be done.
Second, there must be a water distillation plant for Mumbaikars to convert sea water into drinking water so the water of dams will be moved to other places.
Third, plantation program should be taken in drought full are of Maharashtra in which those trees should be plant which require very very less water.

Sir, The water drained from kitchen and Bathroom from Mumbai, Pune and Nashik should be collected and treated in a water treatment plant and released in artificial lakes and canals across Marthwada areas. This water can be used for agriculture and animal drinking and forestry
