Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.

Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

Respected CM FADANVISHJI
One thing to be pointed out that There's severe draught(દુષ઼કાળ) situation in various parts of Maharashtra....is only and only due to this slaughterhouses(કતલખાના) ... all big branded and smaller which runs with or without permission but uses lacs&crores of liters of water in single day. ..

For an e.g."DEONAR KATALKHANA" uses 91-lacs liters of water in single day

SUPPOSE IF THAT WATER SUPPLY STOPPED TO DEONAR for 1 MONTH AND DIVERTED TO 100 SMALL villages

OTHERWISE FUTURE WILL NOT FORGIVE US. PUBLIC EDUCATION ABOUT IMPORTANCE OF WATER IS VERY NECESSARY !

Dear Mr. Chief Minister,

I'd like to bring to your attention WarkaWater, a water-harvesting technique now being used in Ethiopia:

http://www.warkawater.org/

It can harvest up to 100 litres of potable water per day from the atmosphere (rain, fog and dew).

Maybe your government would like to consider this technology for your State?
