Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.
Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

WHY YOU DON'T THINK OF PURIFYING SEA WATER AND TRANSFER IT TO FARMERS/CANALS/DAMS WHATEVER. GIVING SUBSIDY IS ANYHOW WASTING THE MONEY. IN PROCEDURE OF GIVING SUBSIDY SOME PEOPLE ARE GETTING AND SOME ARE NOT, AND IN THE END PROBLEM IS THE SAME. IT MUST BE COST AFFAIR, DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS BUT THIS CAN CHANGE THE FACE OF AGRICULTURE. OUR FARMERS WILL NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR RAIN, IF RAIN IS GOOD IT WILL BE A BONUS, IF NOT IT OKAY WE HAVE THE WATER. KISIKE MARNE SE ACHA TOH YE HOGA HI AT LEAST.

Few Suggestions:
1. Stop all real estate projects at least for month.
2. Stop water supply to all the breweries.
3. Send notice to all the residential societies, Malls, Hotels in metros like Mumbai, Pune & major cities in western Maharashtra, not possessing Rain Water Harvesting plants.
4. Give ultimatum to complete rain water harvesting projects within one month or latest by June 2016.
5. Clean all the rivers & nullahs in cities.
6. Ban waste disposal & "Nirmalya Visarjan" in rivers

Can you please make rainwater harvesting mandatory for all malls, ITparks, SEZ's, schools, colleges, housing societies sized more than 3000sq ft all over Maharashtra and have a team monitor ground implementation for next 3yrs.
Please take measures like tax incentives or credit hours or others to drive ppl to do it

When the Maharashtra is facing worst drought in decades, I request you to shift IPL 2016 matches to other states since it is expected to consume 70 lakhs litres of water in 19 matches to be played in Maharashtra. At present more than 850 people are demanding this in an online petition on Change.org and the numbers are increasing. Hence request you to consider the public opinion and avoid unnecessary wastage of water. Thank you.

As shared by Mr Das, Mr. Manoj Bhargava is manufacturing the machines which they call rain makers. Please visit their website www.billionsinchange.in for more details. If he may be contacted and these machines are installed at various sea Shores in the state, the water solution may be achieved to a greater level.

After studied a lot of Management System for Water Crisis all over the world, the only solution I've found is SEA WATER DESALINATION SYSEM is the most effective and cost efficient with RENEWABLE ENERGY through SOLAR POWERED PANELS. Many countries in the world are benefiting from the productivity of this system. It will create clean drinking water as well as salt for after-use.

Giving monetary grant to families of farmers who have committed suicide amounts to provocation of suicide. Leave that job to other NGO’s like NAM
The Prime Minister has asked at least 50% of farmers to join the crop insurance scheme in man ki bat on 31st jan.
It should be good gesture of government of Maharashtra to share the 100% responsibility of crop insurance of farmers in Maharashtra. All farmers producing grains, pulses, vegetables and fruits should be included.
thanks, dr prashant
