Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.
Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

Make the plant in such a way that the water evaporated gets stored in some other container and is then sent back to the homes and industries for use. 2/2

I've been watching the condition of the people of the Latur District and I strongly wish to help eradicate the problem of water scarcity. I propose a plan for this; why don't the government install a water recyclable plant? All the drains should be connected to that plant and the other wastes must be removed. The water should be treated and should be put into use. Not by using tonnes of chemicals but by the Solar heat. 1/2

Make rain water harvesting mandatory in all villages , towns and cities.
Recycle water generated from AC units ( especially large commercial establishments, factories, malls) .
Explore technology to recycle sewage water / wasted water ( this is already done in Singapore and japan )

1. Set up huge desalination plants and use desalinated and purified/refined sea water .
2. Set up dedicated underground pipe lines to carry this water from Maharashtra coast to the source of the main rivers and dams in Maharashtra and release them there.
3. The technology ( for desalination) for this is available in India or could also be imported cheaply ( do google an initiative known as 'Billions in change' . Some indian based in US is driving that ) .

I visit many Sales Tax Departments (Mazgaon, Bandra, Kokan Bhawan). Almost, everywhere there are pipelines or water taps from where lots and lots of water is flowing day in day out which is leading to wastage of the precious water. I request you to take remedy steps towards this - may be to appoint some contractors to have a look at all the taps of Government Offices and repair or replace the faulty taps which are leaking water 24 X 7. This will be of great help in retaining water reserves.

We are shocked & pained to see severe draught situation in many districts of Maharashtra.
Why can't we process sea water & make it potable , load it on goods trains (bogies used for milk) and deliver overnight to various villages en-route , this will solve drinking water problem for humans & animals.
No need to come up to Mumbai we can establish plant near kalyan Junction draw water from creek & directly load at Kalyan railway junction. ( or get river water from konkan river.
