Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.

Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

Need to imbibe Hivare Bazaar kind of concept in all the rain affected areas. They have set an example by transforming their village. It must be roll model to follow..Also need to improve the capacity of existing dams & their catchment area. This will help us in increasing water storage capacity of dams. Jalyukta Shivar needs to be implemented on faster pace wherever possible !! Hopefully coming year will be drought free..

Why is govt. Making Rain water harvesting optional and not compulsory?
Build water treatment plants across Konkan and take the water to marathwada & Vidarbha. There are several lakes in Nagpur. Why cant we connect those and supply water to Vidarbha?

Jal yukta shivar is a good concept but will it be sufficient? Why not build huge tanks under the ground pretty deep and big like the ones central govt. Is building in Karnataka & Andhra
for oil to use in times of crisis. The solution should be forever. So building a huge tang in every village and making rain water harvesting compulsory for each house and each village. In that way everyone will have sufficient water. And the excess water during rains can be stored for emergency.

In India many people do not get sufficient water to drink. For drinking water they have to struggle a lot. In same India every person from a large segment waste 10 buckets of water a day. Why? How?
Because they use RO water purifiers, in RO water purifier to get 1 glass of filter water there is wastage of 4 glass of water. How?!!!! In country like India this RO system passed without noticing waste wastage. Gallons of water waste due to RO systems everyday from every user. Stop using RO system.

To solve the perennial problems of Maharashtra we need to start channelizing water from Mumbai and Konkan to the drought areas. Most of the water from Mumbai goes back to the Sea, which if saved and stored could last for a year for all the drought prone villages. The Government needs to work on a plan on those lines to channelize the water.
Some suggestions would be lay dedicated pipelines to channelize water from Konkan/Mumbai to 15 reservoirs and divert water there

The water problem has crossed the red level. Government needs to take strict actions for saving water. The government must give first priority to drinking water and water for the agricultural. There should be a ban on cold drink and mineral water plants.

Main Need In Marathwada Now A Present Days Is A Water..
Due To Low Rainfall, Huge Problems Of Water Are Created In This Division,
My Own Opinion Is, Honourable chief Minister's Needs To Make Dams In Each District Of Marathwada...
Now A Days All 08 Districts In Marathwada Division Are Totaly Depend On Jaykawadi Dam....!
If In Each District Dams Will Done Then Huge Problem Of Water Will Be Short Out....

As we know kokan region get more railfall than rest of Maharashtra. So built dam in kokan region and divert that water to marathwada side by tunneling. Water can be transfer by simply gravity and if not possible then by lifting.
This thing is happened in Peru may be( oswal irrigation project) and we have water lifting technology.
