Celebrate “Paryatan Parv” with Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation to explore the diversity of Maharashtra from 5th October 2017 to 25th October 2017.
Celebrate the rich culture of Maharashtra by wearing the traditional Maharashtrian attire and share a picture with us to showcase it.

This traditional outfit is of banjara samaj. Most of its population lives in yawatmal district vidharbha province.
Their culture is one of the oldest and they have successfully preserved it till now.
They have their own ways of celebrating all the festivals and they definitely add diversity to culture of Maharashtra.

Ghagra/Chaniya choli, is the traditional clothing of women from the Indian subcontinent.The Ghagri was a narrow skirt and can still be seen worn by Jain nuns in India.Pheta is the Marathi name for the traditional turban worn in Maharashtra. In ceremonies such as weddings, festive and cultural and religious celebrations as well it is common to wear Pheta.Sherwani is a long coat type dress worn in the Indian subcontinent. It is worn over a kurta with the addition of other elements like churidar.
