Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.
Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

We see debate on media about whether water should be supplied or cut to beer companies in Marathwada and other drought affected regions of Maharashtra.
Such decisions should be taken quickly on war footing. Water must be stopped for beer companies and other non essential companies and sugarcane farms. Otherwise there can be deaths due to dehydration.
My Suggestion : I suggest to make it compulsory for buildings to do rain water harvesting. Only force & compulsion can make it work.

Dear chief minister, we are aware of the drought situation in our state, possibility is that it may become more worse in our near future, there is too much industrialization that resulted decline in plantation, plantation can only help in tackling, global warming, drought and water scarcity problems.i think plantation must be given equal importance with modernizatin, any city must have requird amount of plantation,i request you to take 'GREEN MAHARASHTRA' initiative,

1. Make it compulsory for water bottling companies to provide water to latur etc. on no loss no profit basis at a low cost.
2. Make it compulsory for each 4 wheeler vehicle entering latur to carry 5 liters water, the amount can be deducted at toll plaza, and water also can be collected there.

In every decade there is 8 year drought in Marathwada. The Situations is becoming very horrible year by year. People is forced to leave there own village just bcz of water.
Marathawada gives the brilliant politicians to state and nation but none was able to development. Just because this area is backward and has no industry means no TAX. Need to forget what previous gov did, but we have a strong gov with strong leaders. Please focus on Marathwada. First would be water.(amol2308@gmail.com)

Dear sir,
If we supposed to join the rivers with canals it will be help to drought affected villages and it will help agriculture too. Also we have to increase plantation of more trees. If we look at Punjab and Haryana state, they have constructed canals for agriculture purpose, i think we also have to implement same strategy fighting against drought. Thank you.

Continued..
If this is implemented successfully next year we would in a better situation to fight against drought. All street gutter lines are connected to the rivers, which can be utilized in a better way. This can save the tax payers money in next summer and this can be utilized in some other development plan. We need the right execution at the right time, which is not happening in the state govt.
Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra.
