Irregular monsoons over an extended period have resulted in frequent water scarcity for the agricultural sector. While prompt relief in times of scarcity must be provided, long-term measures to ensure prevention of such situations must be taken.

Government has decided to implement multiple programs for water conservation in an integrated manner with convergence across all the concerned departments. ”Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan” has been launched to make Maharashtra drought free by 2019. We aim to make five thousand villages drought free in the 1st year of the Abhiyan.

We look forward to getting your suggestions on how the program can be further enhanced and implemented successfully

Hi Sir,
Me and my friends discuss our social issues and we have very good influence of your good work.
Just thought to request you that - will it be possible for you to add one more point in your day to day communications to appeal people to try to deepen the existing reservoirs/ rivers / lakes/ well by contributing themselves by whatever means they can? Also we can request below to people -
All the major roads in Maharashtra are built by digging the soil at both sides of it. Can we use that

When the monsoon is bad the tendency of farmers is to go far additional bore wells. This results in more debt and also the ground water being depletion. The only answer is to grow vegetables etc without lot of water for the season till the next monsoon. Please look into the link http://www.dewharvest.com/index.html. The link has got a method of growing plants with dew only by having one plastic contraption called GROASIS WATERBOXX. This is a plastic contraption with which plants can be grown.

Recently Govt has increased the service tax from 14.5 to 15, I suggest that the extra tax what is increased this year i.r 0.05% should be used only for Farmers welfare, help and support. I think state govt can its decision on how to use this tax and as maharastra is facing severe farming crisis I suggest our govt to look into the possibility of utilizing this increased tax.
